Creighton's Nursery Tour

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I thought I would have this posted a long time ago...turns out I'm not very quick at getting anything done anymore. There's this sweet little boy who I would much rather spend my time with than sitting in front of the computer screen...so this has taken a back burner. But I still want to try to get some posts up every once in a while! I know I will like looking back on them! Is it weird to go backwards and post updates from the past few months?

Anyway....wanted to show you a quick little tour of Creighton's nursery! We bought our first house in April and we are LOVING every minute we have been here! It's just the perfect little home for our family. I was absolutely thrilled that I would have a new space to decorate for our little guy. This is something I have dreamed of doing my whole life. In high school home economics class we had an assignment of making a scrapbook of sorts. We could choose designing our dream wedding or a room or something like that. Most of the rest of the girls in my class chose to design and plan their wedding (probably much more normal choice for a high school girl that what I chose). I chose to design my baby's nursery. So...even when I was in high school I was dreaming of the day I would get to decorate a room for my precious baby. My tastes and style have changed dramatically from when I made that scrapbook, but the reality of this dream coming true truly meant the world to me.

Despite the fact that I had waited a long time to be able to decorate a nursery...it took me FOREVER to decide how I wanted it. It was maybe a week before he was born before I finally called it finished. I think I was driving everyone crazy because when they would ask what the nursery was going to look like, I couldn't ever give them an answer. I'm so incredibly pleased with the way it turned out though. By far, my most favorite room in the house.

Come along and take a look at Creighton's little room...a perfect space for our beautiful beach baby.

Newborn Photos

Monday, September 14, 2015

I'm not doing the best at keeping up with this! Ugh! Finally wanted to get around to putting up Creighton's newborn photos! It was so fun and a little surreal to be taking these photos of my own baby!
We did them when he was 8 days old. We had tried them the day before and he was NOT having it. He made me a little nervous that he might not cooperate for them. But the next day we made him super tired and he slept like a champ for several hours while we moved him all over the yard to get some photos. He was sleeping so hard while we were out on the porch that when the tornado drill sirens went off TWICE (a few blocks from our house) he didn't even flinch. My mom was still at our house the day we took them and was such a huge help! Couldn't have done it without her!
So thankful for these photos of my tiny newborn!

Going home!

Monday, August 17, 2015

We were dismissed from the hospital on Thursday, June 18th. We spent the morning there and got everything finalized and were ready to leave around 1:00 that day. It was so exciting packing up all our things to take him home for the first time! We left the hospital and had to run and get a couple of prescriptions filled. While we waited on those we had our first lunch together as a little family at Noodles and Company. I'm pretty sure we smiled the whole way home as we looked into the back seat.

Our hospital stay

We spent 3 1/2 days in the hospital after Creighton was born. Our families were in and out the whole time. It was so nice having them there the day he was born and then having them visit throughout the rest of our stay. We usually had the morning to ourselves and then my parents, who stayed with us for about a week and a half, would come over and spend the afternoon/evening with us. It was good so fun having them there...and it was nice for Eli to sneak away with my dad a couple times to go grab food. We were done being cooped up in the tiny room by the end of our stay, that's for sure. We did watch a lot of Royals baseball while we were there though! Creighton was our little Royals fan from the very beginning! Here are just a few pictures from the hospital and of some of Creighton's visitors! Our little boy is so loved!
