Lemonade Stand

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

The theme continues of me being way behind in posting. I want to share a few post of what we were up to this summer though! One of our highlights was the lemonade stand we put together. The kids have been asking for...ahem...several summers now do to a lemonade stand. Not sure what the draw was, but they were anxious to do one. It was between that or a dog wash. I was not about to do a dog wash, so lemonade stand it was!
A day or two before selling day, I told Eli how I was considering making a stand. I'm sure he was totally shocked that I had plans to make things way more complicated than they needed to be. ;) He's too good though, we went through our scrap pile and found all the materials we needed to whip something together real fast.
We set up shop outside Cole and Charly's parent's car lot. The kids helped get all the cookies, lemonade, and decorations ready. They helped unload and set up. And they were masters at looking cute and getting all sorts of people to stop! They even made it into the local newspaper!
Such a fun summer memory.
He really loves to have his picture taken these days. Goof ball.
These boys...they are inseparable. They are so hilarious together.
Charly had such a blast. She definitely stuck with it the longest. She did so great.
The number of "sniterdoodles" he ate was unreal. Basically, the way Sawyer does business is he sells two, eats one. He also got pretty good at using his cuteness to get people to buy 2 cookies and then give him the money AND the cookies they just bought. Smart kid.

Kansas Waterfall

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

A couple weeks ago we found a fun new place to play and explore. A waterfall in Kansas is hard to come by, so it was such a fun suprise to find one only a few minutes from our house! Eli came with us on our first time visit...I'm so glad he was there! It turned out to be something I wouldn't have been able to do on my own with 3 kids! The kids climed around and played and swam in the water for a couple hours...they loved it! We had a picnic lunch at the lake before we took the little walk to the waterfall.
Watermelon + cute kids makes for some of the best summer photos! :)
These two were so brave... I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck the entire time they were climbing. Shortly after this photo I sent Eli in after them!
They loved the waterfall, but equally as much they loved the little stream that flowed down below it. It had a pretty decent current, which Cole and Charly loved! Sawyer was pretty cautious the whole time. He spent the day throwing all sorts of rocks into the water.
Right before we headed home, I asked them if they wanted to climb up one more time. I asked Sawyer if he wanted to go up...he wasn't so sure at first. I kept telling him that "he could do it cause he was so brave". He decided he did want to go, so my sweet husband carried him up the whole way. I think Sawyer loved it, cause most of the time I saw him smiling! When he got down and as we were walking back to our car he kept saying "I so brave, right Ashley?! I went all the way to the top like Tole (Cole) and Charly!" So adorable.
Such a great day with some of my most favorite people! We will definitely be visiting this spot again!

Kansas weather clearly doesn't read my blog....

...also, I'm dying to be back on a beach with my man.

Warm it up Wednesday

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Spring is trying to make it's appearance here in Kansas...but it's certainly not quite here yet. Although this Wednesday is MUCH more pleasant than last! We're going to just keep reminding winter that it's not welcome anymore (or ever again). A few warm photos for your Wednesday.

Warm it up Wednesday

I don't know about you...but I am beyond ready for spring (and summer). It cannot get here fast enough!! I'm dreaming of days by the pool with my favorite kiddos...but since that time's not here yet, I thought we would look back at some summer photos. Maybe then the weather will get the hint and finally warm up! You could probably chalk up summertime with these kids as one of my most favorite things on the planet. The pool, splash parks, the smell of sunscreen, popsicles by the pool, little fingers and toes all wrinkled from a day in the water...sigh...everything about summer is perfect. Oh sweet summertime, please come soon!
