Pumpkin Painting

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

We have made this a tradition for several years now and it's one of the things about fall I look forward to the most! An art project that screams fall but isn't your typical paints/paper craft. The kids LOVE doing it too! And I absolutely love the colorful little pumpkins they create when they are all finished!

Cole's Room Tour

Monday, August 4, 2014

I have been working for several months (or maybe closer to a year!) now to give Cole and Charly's rooms a makeover! I added *Finish Cole and Charly's Rooms* to our Summer Bucket List, which was just the motivation I needed to hurry up and finish the last minute touches already! It also helped to have a couple excited kids asking me every day when they could FINALLY check that off our list! Great motivational tool? I would say so!
Here are a few before photos of his room. Needless to say it was in desperate need of a little love! Also...if you ever think  you want to paint a room in your house bright orange...I suggest you think twice...this took several coats of primer and paint to cover up!
Anyway, this is Cole's room. I wanted his room to have a little bit of the rustic look, but not too over the top. I paired a few rustic, wooden items with the bold, glossy red along with navy blue. I'm not a huge "theme" person when it comes to decorating...so I can't really say that I had a theme in mind when I started this. Although, as it went along, I found myself adding in several arrows throughout his room. I absolutely love the way it turned out, and I think he's pretty thrilled about it too! Ready to take the tour with me?
These lockers. I'm so in love with how they turned out! If they weren't so heavy I would probably steal them and bring them to my house!

Kansas Waterfall

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

A couple weeks ago we found a fun new place to play and explore. A waterfall in Kansas is hard to come by, so it was such a fun suprise to find one only a few minutes from our house! Eli came with us on our first time visit...I'm so glad he was there! It turned out to be something I wouldn't have been able to do on my own with 3 kids! The kids climed around and played and swam in the water for a couple hours...they loved it! We had a picnic lunch at the lake before we took the little walk to the waterfall.
Watermelon + cute kids makes for some of the best summer photos! :)
These two were so brave... I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck the entire time they were climbing. Shortly after this photo I sent Eli in after them!
They loved the waterfall, but equally as much they loved the little stream that flowed down below it. It had a pretty decent current, which Cole and Charly loved! Sawyer was pretty cautious the whole time. He spent the day throwing all sorts of rocks into the water.
Right before we headed home, I asked them if they wanted to climb up one more time. I asked Sawyer if he wanted to go up...he wasn't so sure at first. I kept telling him that "he could do it cause he was so brave". He decided he did want to go, so my sweet husband carried him up the whole way. I think Sawyer loved it, cause most of the time I saw him smiling! When he got down and as we were walking back to our car he kept saying "I so brave, right Ashley?! I went all the way to the top like Tole (Cole) and Charly!" So adorable.
Such a great day with some of my most favorite people! We will definitely be visiting this spot again!
